The adventure is littered with familiar villains and other classic Spider-Man characters, providing an ample amount of nostalgia. When compared to the Spider-Man movies or even some of the other games, the plot in Shattered Dimensions isn't all that remarkable. Along the way, you'll learn more about the true power of the Tablet of Order and Chaos. With over a dozen pieces of the tablet to discover, the Spider-Men set off to their respective dimensions to recover what they can. Luckily, each dimension has a Spider-Man of its own, including Noir Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099, and Ultimate Spider-man. During the scuffle, the tablet is split into several pieces, scattered over three different dimensions. The dialogue sometimes tilts too much towards the cliche,Īnd there are certain times (especially boss fights) when Spidey or Madame Web repeat the same quip with alarming frequency.įortunately, those instances are infrequent,Īnd dialogue generally does a great job of capturing heroes signature mix of determination and impertinence.The story in Shattered Dimensions starts with the Amazing Spider-Man battling Mysterio, who is caught attempting to steal the powerful artifact known as the Tablet of Order and Chaos. There are a lot of enjoyable pop culture references and nods to the heroes canon. However, occasional locomotion snags and a creeping sense of repetition put a kink in Spidey's web,Īnd the Noir levels aren't as strong as the others. Each Spidey is quick and powerful,Īllowing you to deftly evade your enemies and string together brutal combos using your substantial spider powers.Īt its best, Shattered Dimensions captures the energy and excitement of the webslinging superhero,Īnd most of the time, you'll revel in your enhanced abilities. Swinging through the air and pounding bad guys to a pulp are two of the things heroes does best,Īnd in Spider Shattered Dimensions Ultimate, you do plenty of both while playing as four different versions of Spider: Amazing, Ultimate, Man, and Noir.
